The Tawny Owls are a Lyon based French band.

They formed in 1995 with:

Michel - lead vocal (formerly with TOMBSTONE ); Hervé – lead guitar and Yann - upright bass (both formerly with STOMPIN' SHOES, The BONNEVILLE BARONS - GB ) and Eric, Hervé’s brother, at the drums (JOHN GUSTER & THE RHYTHM KINGS - CH).

They readily admit being influenced by Eddie COCHRAN, Elvis PRESLEY, Ray HARRIS, Gene MALTAIS … and their act is made up from the legendary SUN STUDIO tracks as well as more obscure from-the-vault killers.

This makes an authentic, dedicated mind-blowing act, in the tradition of 50’s wild spirit and juvenile restlessness.

After roaming bars throughout France and Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain), they are preparing for the release of their first CD with the British label "FOOT TAPPING RECORDS" – "HIGH FLY" and their tour (wisely going by the same name!)
